My wife and I were looking around for a contractor to make some changes to our master bath and kitchen. After speaking to several other contractors, we met with James about the remodel/renovations we wanted and he made us feel very comfortable from the beginning. He was very knowledgeable about what it took to make the changes we were interested in doing. And he gave us realistic, upfront information about what to expect.After going over our goals, James' presented us with a detailed proposal that met our budget and timing. James stayed in touch throughout the process and was always willing to answer any questions we had along the way. His input was crucial to the decisions we ultimately made in changing our bathroom to a magnificent oasis, and our kitchen into a stellar family friendly cooking area.James and his crew were very meticulous about treating our home as if it were theirs. They did impeccable work, making sure to clean up every step of the way. We are so pleased that we decided to have Distinctive Renovations perform the work in our home. We're looking forward to the next project. We will certainly be using James and his crew. If you are looking for high quality workmanship, we highly recommend Distinctive Renovations for any of your home improvement projects. You will not be disappointed.

Distinctive Renovations is WONDERFUL!! They make your dreams a reality.I was nervous doing a big renovation like this because of previous contractor but they made the process so easy. If you’re thinking about doing any kind of renovation, do yourself a favor and call them!! It doesn’t get any better than this.Can’t wait to use them in the future.

Not sure how to do this – but I’ll try to explain our last 8 weeks of working with Distinctive Renovations. I chose this company for the impeccable reviews of its owner, James Ogden. My personal advice is to choose wisely. Look at reviews. Really take a deep dive and see if the GC can deliver for your needs/wants. You want experience (they have), and you’re going to want someone local (they are).Before I begin with James, I cannot go any further without referencing Jessica Ogden and the entire crew who work at Distinctive. Thank you. Excellent work. Reviewers typically focus on James -because he will be your primary contact. Because our job was so big and complex – we got to meet everybody. This was #truly a #team effort. They performed exceptionally well and exceeded expectations. Very professional and friendly with the entire family.James Ogden deserves the high praise he receives in his reviews. They are, indeed, true as he exhibited them first-hand to my family. I cannot express enough gratitude for the patience and friendliness.We were YOU just 8 weeks ago. Searching for someone to “fix” our broken-down home. Our problem was unique in that our home is 100 years old with many, many more issues than a traditional, newer home. We needed someone who was skilled and passionate, so we were extra selective. Lots of General Contractor options so we were picky and honestly, scared. The only thing I can provide you is I chose James Ogden and Distinctive off the long list of positive reviews. Talk with him for 5 minutes and you will quickly discover no other contractor should be considered. I’ll never forget standing in my bathroom, tub is falling through the floor and upstairs toilet is visible from below…and after his initial inspection James says, “This house doesn’t scare me. It’s just old. I’m gonna fix it.” And fix it he did. A long list of crazy wants and needs.Distinctive Renovations had a very complex job that frankly we didn’t think could get done under budget or on-time. I mentally prepared myself.I went off the reviews I read regarding James Ogden and the company he helped build. He took a very complex rebuild and made it look quite beautiful. We are so thankful for the entire team. I don’t think there is anything they couldn’t do, to be honest. They were a one-stop shop for us and they should be for you as well. We have our needs and wants met – and I don’t think any other contractor could have pulled this off! Distinctive is a business that prides themselves in their work, their legacy, and their ability to provide customers a happy outcome. They DELIVERED! I can’t say enough wonderful things about James and his team. They did a remarkable job on my kitchen, flooring and wall update in my living room. No regrets in choosing him and his team over 2 other quotes. Let me be clear, all three quotes from three different contractors were right around the same ballpark. I chose James because of his attention to my vision, his guidance and suggestions as we walked through the options and planning. I was even more impressed with his team. Enrique is a true right hand man. They made our living situation as comfortable as possible as they worked on the projects. They kept things nice and clean after every job. I was blown away on the final day when all projects were done and it looked like they had hired a cleaning crew but it was the guys who made it all ready for me to do the fun part. Setting up.I can’t forget Amy and her cabinet guys. They were precise and fast. Love my cabinets. Thank you so much, it was such a pleasant experience to work with you and your team James. Felt like family.

James' team did an amazing job on our remodel. We have an older home built in the 60's and had some poorly built framing on several external walls that caused the window frame to rot. Additionally, we had similar issues with our front and back entry ways.James came over and did a detailed walkthrough of what we wanted and provided a no-cost detailed scope of work.His work crew was lead by Enrique. They arrived ontime each morning and cleaned up everyday before leaving the job. Jame and Enrique were helped answer my questions throughout the remodel process. The crew was amazing and I felt comfortable with them working on my house whenever I had to step out.Overall, I would recommend them to anyone looking to take on a major structural remodal. Very few companies possess skills to do structual remodels. Distinct Renovations was definetly up to the task!

Distinctive Renovations remodeled our master bath in order to accommodate my husband's health issues. James' team removed the old tub and shower and built a closet and a huge shower with grab bars. They also replaced the flooring and toilet. James and Jessica were extremely helpful in guiding me when selecting the finishes. James and Jessica were always responsive to my calls or questions; and they, as well as their team, were very considerate of my husband's illness. The shower is fantastic and the bathroom is gorgeous! I will be calling on Distinctive Renovations in the future for a kitchen remodel. Thanks to James, Jessica and their team!

I highly recommend James and his team. We met and discussed renovation plans and was presented with a detailed quote and detailed payment plan. I never had an issue getting in touch with him regarding questions I had, it was always a fast response to questions. We were always kept in the loop as to the schedule of the day and who was showing up and what they would be working on that day. Great communication and dependable company. Project was completed in timeline we agreed upon. We will be using them again for future projects.Before and after pictures, we absolutely love the results!

James and his team truly saved our house after having terrible work done by a contractor team’s that compromised the integrity of our house. James hired all the right people to fix the joists, level the top floor, reinforce beams, fix dry wall and do new dry wall, lay flooring the right way, install tiles the right way, and this list goes on. There were so many horrible pieces of advice that we were originally told and James and his team came in to resolve the advice and get our house completely renovated. In addition to all the work on the inside they did great work on the outside. They extended the porch beautifully and did a wrap around staircase as well as installed front fencing. Anything you can name, literally, his team did. He even hired outstanding plumbers and an electrician. You can trust James and he restored my faith in being able to find a trustworthy and reliable contractor to do work in Galveston, TX. I’m so grateful James went outside his usual service area of League city and Texas City to come and fix our major house problems. I’m so thankful for the Beautiful work and his amazing crews!
